Mobility
All Trolley
An assistive trolley concept designed to make carrying groceries easier, safer, and more comfortable for daily use.
Challenge
Carrying heavy groceries can place strain on the arms, shoulders, and hands, particularly for older adults and people with limited strength. The project explored how an everyday shopping task could be made less physically demanding and more comfortable.
Solution
I developed an assistive grocery trolley that distributes the load more effectively, reducing the physical effort required to transport groceries while remaining approachable for everyday use.
Design process
- Studied common grocery-carrying challenges and movement patterns.
- Explored form and handling through sketches and early concept studies.
- Developed the trolley frame in CAD to refine balance, usability, and proportions.
- Considered materials and finishes suited to practical, durable everyday use.
Outcome
The final concept provides a practical support for grocery shopping, making a routine task easier and more comfortable while considering a wider range of user needs.
